Poste Italiane sees rising profits, dividend in 2023 guidance

ROME (Reuters) – Poste Italiane said on Thursday it expected its net profit to rise to 1.7 billion euros ($1.84 billion) this year, from 1.51 billion euros in 2022, and a dividend per share of 0.71 euros, up 9% year-on-year.

The state-controlled Italian postal service company said it was “well positioned to continue its steady growth path in a challenging environment, thanks to its diversified business model.”

In its 2022 results, it said revenues were up by 6% to 11.9 billion euros and earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) had jumped to a “record” 2.3 billion euros, up 24.1% year-on-year.

Poste’s board also proposed 2022 a dividend payment of 0.65 euros per share, up 10% from 2021.
