Pumper Car Luxe Is an Unconventional Three-Wheeler That Blends Fitness and Transportation – autoevolution

As society is becoming increasingly environmentally conscious, urban mobility is shifting towards greener transportation options, and personal mobility devices are getting more and more interesting. An intriguing offering we’ve come across is the Pumper Car Luxe, a micromobility product that provides not only an eco-friendly and fun way to navigate urban environments but also a unique workout.

Touted as an interactive personal transportation device, the Pumper Car Luxe is an innovative three-wheeler that stands out from the crowd for more reasons than one. Firstly, it can serve as a wonderful tool for getting outdoors and getting exercise thanks to its unique patented pump-action system. And secondly, it boasts a tadpole configuration, with two wheels in front and one in the back, offering more stability and control than conventional tricycles. Moreover, it folds into a compact package and neatly fits into a car trunk for easy transportation.

The team behind this mobility solution is based in Portland, Oregon, and started out as a humble toy company. Their first product, the Pumper Car, was originally designed as a fun children’s toy but has subsequently been clinically proven to help with more than 19 medical conditions, with the unique pump-action system giving riders an upper- and lower-body workout. Their portfolio has expanded greatly and now includes a range of patented, human-propelled, personal transport devices that offer an engaging and healthy way to move around, with an array of documented physical therapeutic benefits.

The company has designed the Pumper Car Luxe specifically for teens and adults (56 inches to 78 inches tall) who want a more sustainable and health-focused means of transport. Built with a sleek, futuristic carbon fiber and aluminum frame, the three-wheeler offers a balance between durability and lightweight design. With its tadpole configuration and a low center of gravity, it ensures increased safety and stability.

In terms of technology, the patented Integrated Personal Transportation system comprises a power-assist motor that allows riders to reach speeds of up to 25 miles per hour (40 kph). The company has not disclosed the capacity of the removable battery but mentions the tricycle will offer a range of about 25 miles (40 km) per charge.

The aforementioned pump-action mechanism is one of the highlights of the design and introduces a new era of riding. While the majority of the electric bikes and trikes on the market rely solely on electric power, the Pumper Car Luxe comes with a unique propulsion system that engages the rider. The arm and leg pumper offers a vigorous upper and lower body workout, blending fitness and transportation.

Additionally, it is offered with various adjustable seating options to provide a comfortable ride and is rated for riders up to 500 pounds (227 kg).

The three-wheeler is approved for use on bike lanes, and safety was also a priority for the designers. As such, the Luxe comes equipped with LED lights for enhanced visibility, bicycle-style handbrakes, protection from pinch points, and a performance computer to monitor speed and distance. For added convenience, it boasts a foldable design for easy transport and storage.

Pumper Car plans to launch the new Luxe model this year, but a specific timeframe has not been mentioned. No pricing information is available either, but more details will probably be unveiled closer to the release date.

While Pumper Car’s previous products are recognized for being beneficial as therapeutic devices, the brand-new Luxe three-wheeler is not marketed as such a device. However, this is the company’s most advanced model yet, and besides a practical urban mobility solution for daily commutes, it can also be used as a tool for getting more active and ensuring physical well-being.
