A RARE performance saloon that can match the lightning-fast speed of a BMW M3 is being sold for a dirt cheap price.
The very plush Chrysler 300C – a special edition of the regular model is up on the market – and it is 95 per cent less expensive than its new-age BMW rival.
Spacious and comfortable inside, the top-of-the-range 2006 model was introduced as a plus-size sports car that can produce an insane 340bhp.
Under the hood of the model is a 5.7 HEMI engine capable of sprinting from 0-20mph in just 6.4 seconds.
And it can reach a top speed of 155mph – rivalling the fast BMW M3.
However, while the impressive German car retails for upwards of £100,000, this used Chrysler 300C could be yours for just £3,995 – that is almost a discount of 95 per cent.
The car is currently listed on AutoTrader’s website.
The description reads: “Chrysler 300C for sale. Drives well. No issues, just a couple of scratches or small dents around the body, nothing major.”
The Chrysler 300C is a special car in many ways it comes from the line of Chrysler 300S that lasted 18 years and was even driven by multiple notable public figures.
Stars that drove the model include rapper Snoop Dogg and President Barack Obama, Automotive News reported.
Chrysler announced their move towards creating EV cars instead of traditional gas vehicles.
The auto company unveiled a new electric vehicle concept at the New York Auto Show last year, called the Airflow EV.
Chrysler’s CEO, Christine Feuell, revealed that a new model would be available in two years, according to Auto Week.
Feuell said: “What we intend to launch in 2025 is certainly inspired by the Airflow, but not the Airflow in its exact form.”
It comes after an Italian super saloon that boasts a Ferrari engine can be picked up for a bargain price – but they’re extremely hard to find.
Lancia Therma, a seldom seen motor in the UK, was produced between 1984 and 1994 and was once considered one of the most luxurious cars of the 1980s.
Available as both a saloon and as a station wagon, the Therma was designed and produced by Pininfarina – known for making seriously good-looking motors.
Spacious and comfortable inside, the top-of-the-range model was the Thema 8.32 – introduced in 1986 – which was powered by a 3.0-litre Ferrari V8 engine capable of reaching 146 mph.
Inside, the trimmings were made using wood-and-Alcantara, with stitched leather covering the entire dashboard.
Brilliantly, Enzo Ferrari owned a Therma 8.32 towards the end of his life as his own personal transport.
The Thema 8.32 rivalled other fastest saloons of the late 1980s, including the Audi Quattro, BMW M535i, Ford Sierra Cosworth RS, Saab 9000 2.3 Turbo S, and the Vauxhall Lotus Carlton.
Road & Track magazine described the 8.32 as “one of the weirder sleepers to come out of the 1980s.”
According to How Rare is My Car, only 27 Lancia Therma’s are currently registered in the UK with a full MOT.
Of course, these could be the second-generation Therma, built between 2011 and 2014 – although in the UK these were badged as the Chrysler 300C.
The listing says the car is “very well maintained, drives perfectly” and has a “private plate included.”
This comes as Lancia recently revealed the release of the brand’s first hot hatchback in decades – and a return to the World Rally Championship.
And another little-known motor that’s rare in the UK can be bought for just £12,000 – and it has a huge fan in the form of Jeremy Clarkson.
