Rare Sonos price cut could convince you to ditch Bose and Sony for good

If your current cans feel a little past their best, now could be a very good time to switch to something new. The latest Sonos Ace headphones only launched back in June but they’ve already received their first massive price cut. When they first went on sale they would have set you back a whopping £449 but a new deal from Amazon has slashed that cost to just £367.98 – that’s an 18 percent saving. YOU CAN CHECK OUT THE DEAL HERE

The Sonos Ace are a stellar pair of music makers with them featuring impressive sound and solid Active Noise Cancellation which makes sure you only hear the music and not any annoying background audio. They also get a design that’s incredibly comfortable to wear thanks to plush memory foam ear cushions, massive 30-hour battery life and clever spatial audio which makes it seem as if music is hitting your ears from all directions.

Of course, a lot of these features can be found on other headphones from the likes of Sony and Bose but the Sonos Ace does have one exclusive trick up its sleeve.

If you’re watching a Hollywood blockbuster or late-night football action – and don’t want to disturb the family – you simply press the volume button on the side of the cups (or tap the special mode in the app) to transfer the audio directly to the headphones rather than it booming out of your soundbar. This is a function Sonos is called TV Swap and it really is quite brilliant.

As long as you have a compatible Sonos soundbar – such as the Arc – you’ll be able to enjoy some epic sound guilt-free.

The only thing we criticised them for was the price and they definitely appear more appealing now that things have been dropped in the sale.

The only thing that might put you off buying the Sonos Ace is what’s coming soon from Apple. The US technology giant has just confirmed a big update to its AirPods range.

This includes new buds which feature better sound and smart features such as Voice Isolation and improved Siri support along with a version that now feature Active Noise Cancellation without going Pro.

The AirPods Max have also been updated with USB-C charging and new colours.

“With AirPods 4, customers can enjoy Active Noise Cancellation and the most advanced audio experience ever in an open-ear design,” said John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering. “And with a revolutionary update to the world’s best-selling headphones, AirPods Pro will deliver groundbreaking new capabilities — including Hearing Test and Hearing Aid features — to help more than a billion people affected by hearing loss.”
