SHOPPERS are rushing to snap up a ready-made meal at Sainsbury’s with prices slashed by an immense 97 per cent.
The deal has been dubbed “amazing” by excited customers.
A home-brand 400g quiche was spotted in store for 10p by a lucky shopper.
The quiche is usually priced at £3.95.
A customer posted the deal to Facebook after she was able to claim the quiche for the bargain price as a yellow-sticker sensation.
Supermarkets slap on the famed yellow marks when items are near their use-by date.
That means the quiche would have only been on clearance in certain stores, remaining £3.95 online.
But it served as a reminder for shoppers to keep their eyes peeled for the yellow labels.
The lucky quiche shopper said she compiled the pastry with a lunch also featuring a 10p bag of salad – and a 10p tub of yogurt to top it off.
One Facebook user responded: “Amazing.”
Another said: “Wow amazing, sadly never see these deals in Sainsbury’s.“
The lucky buyer clarified it was found in a late-night firesale.
She explained: “Some nights nothing (or not stuff I like) it’s pot luck.”
It comes with Sainsbury’s offering a deal to keep a handle on your kids’ hunger over the school summer break.
If parents buy a main meal at the supermarket cafe, kids are able to eat for £1.
Other supermarkets with similar summertime offers include Tesco, Asda and Morrisons.
