Samsung is keeping pace with TCL by expanding its line-up of very large TVs, introducing several 98-inch models this year as competition with China's TCL intensifies. The 98-inch Q80C and 98-inch QN990C, which were launched last year, will continue to be available in 2024, Samsung confirmed. They will this year be joined by the more affordable 98-inch DU9000 and the 98-inch QN90D. With the launch of these new models, Samsung has significantly expanded its offerings in the 'super-sized' segment. Traditionally, most Samsung TV ranges have maxed out at 85 inches. The four 98-inch models
DU9000 will be Samsung's most affordable 98-inch TV to date, positioned as a direct competitor to TCL's P-series, which also includes a 98-inch model. The 98-inch QN90D with miniLED zone dimming is high-end 4K alternative to TCL's 98-inch X955 / QM851G. Samsung is the only brand offering a 98-inch 8K LCD TV, although the QN990C comes with a hefty price tag of $40,000. Also read: Samsung 2024 TV line-up (with TV compare tool)98-inch DU9000.
