Samsung Electronics has secured the number one spot in smartphone market share across 38 countries worldwide.

According to the “Country-by-Country Smartphone Shipment Report” released on June 3 by market research firm Counterpoint Research, Samsung Electronics leads in 38 of the 74 countries surveyed. This marks an increase from 28 countries in the last quarter of the previous year.

The company has achieved more than 40% market share in several countries, including Brazil, Chile, and Poland. It has also managed to claim the top spot in key Asian markets such as Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, where Apple previously dominated.

In contrast, Samsung has lost its leading position in India and several Western European countries such as Belgium, Denmark, and the Netherlands, where companies like Vivo have risen.

Apple now leads in 16 countries, a decrease from 24 in the previous quarter’s report. Xiaomi has climbed to the top position in eight countries, down from thirteen in the same period last year.
