In the modern-day smartphone business, almost every manufacturer has its own mobile payment system. Apple for example has its own mobile payment system called Apple Pay. Huawei also has the Huawei Wallet while Samsung has the Samsung Pay.
According to news reaching Gizchina, Samsung will make some changes to the name of its mobile payment system. These changes will be in India on the 30th of January 2023. Samsung uses the Samsung Pay together with its in-house password management app, Samsung Pass.
Samsung Wallet Started Rolling Out Last Year
Last year. the South Korean company announced that it would merge both Samsung Pay and Samsung Pass. These two apps will be together under one App name. The new app name would be called Samsung Wallet. Samsung actually began the roll out of the Samsung Wallet some few months ago. While other regions have already seen this shift, users in India will begin to see it tomorrow.
As early as January 2023, Samsung said that it will roll out the update in India and other seven markets before the end of January. Now, the South Korean firm has begun teasing the new Samsung Wallet for a January 30 launch in India.
In a tweet with the hast tag #SamsungPayisGettingBetter, it says that there is just a day left for Samsung Pay’s big transformation. Which means those in the listed regions will begin to see the change tomorrow.
The merge means that the two apps are bringing their individual features together under one roof. Meanwhile, Samsung will include extra features in the app to make it a fully secured and feature-rich app.
