SBI periodic KYC updation: How to update KYC when there is change in address details



The Reserve Bank of India has taken steps to simplify KYC-related instructions from time to time, taking into account available technological options for improving customer convenience within the framework prescribed by the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA) and rules framed thereunder.

The majority of banks are trying to educate their customers and have requested that they update their information in accordance with any changes to the most recent information.
SBI took to social media X(previously known as Twitter) to inform its customers that periodic updation of KYC is a regulatory requirement.

How to update KYC when there is no change in KYC details

To update their KYC, customers can visit any SBI branch that is closest to them. If the customers’ previously submitted KYC information has not changed, they must merely submit a properly filled and signed prescribed format (Annexure A) for updating the KYC papers in the account. You have three options for submitting this format to the Branch: in person, via mail, or via your registered email address.

How to update KYC when there is change in KYC details

Customers must visit the branch with their original KYC documents and one photo to update the most recent KYC documents associated with their account if there is any difference between the documents they currently have and the ones they previously submitted, or if the bank needs additional information or documentation for any other reason. One needs to fill the Annexure C-Self Declaration form for KYC updation if there is any change in address along with other documents.

How to update SBI KYC through YONO?

The below KYC updating steps through yono app only for those customers where there is no change in KYC or KYCR number is available with bank & kyc documents are as per current standards.
Step 1: Log in to YONO app with MPIN/userid passsword credentials and submit
Step 2: Go to SERVICE REQUEST in menu on top left on home screen (This menu will be available only for those customers whose KYC updation is due for those customers whose KYC updation is due).
Step 3: Click on update KYC icon
Step 4: Enter profile password and submit

  • Step 5: Verify the address populated
  • Update occupation parameters (if required)
  • Update income parameters (if required)
  • Update kyc address details (if required)
  • Select option of upation of kyc address details as (yes or no)
  • Tick the undertaking box and click next button.

Step 5: Enter the OTP sent on the registered mobile no. On the screen and submit.

Final message displayed as successful kyc for CIF has been updated in bank records through YONO.

How to update KYC through internet banking

The below KYC updating steps through yono app only for those customers where there is no change in KYC or KYCR number is available with bank & kyc documents are as per current standards.
Step 1: Log in to internet banking with MPIN Userid, passsword credentials and submit.
Step 2: Go to My Accounts and Profile.
Step 3: Click on Update KYC icon and select account from the dropdown.
Step 4: Verify the address populated
Update income parameters
Mark radio button as no (is there change in address)
Tick-declaration

Input a high security password received in your registered mobile number. Once the update of KYC details is successful. The details are applicable to all accounts under your CIF.
