The South Dakota Transportation Commission is investing approximately $20 million dollars in bridge preservation and replacement grant programs this year.
Dell Rapids was a recipient of the Bridge Improvement Grant along with 12 counties, resulting in 23 bridge improvement projects statewide.
The state Transportation Commission has contributed $163 million dollars in grant money toward the bridge grant program to date.
The commission encourages any city or county interested in the program to apply by Aug. 1.
