A UK theme park right next to the English seaside has revealed their brand new thrill ride opening this year.
Southend-on-Sea’s Adventure Island is currently closed for the season, planning to reopen next month.
And ahead of the reopening, one of their popular rides is having a revamp.
The Time Machine ride, which didn’t open last year, is returning to the park with an ‘all new look’.
A spokesperson told local media: “Get ready for an epic return! Time Machine is set to make a grand comeback this year, sporting an all-new look.
“Here’s a sneak peek: the main lift boom is now installed, and our expert ride maintenance team is busy revamping and retheming the entire ride.
One person on TripAdvisor called it the “most intense ride at the park”.
It’s not the only new ride coming to the park.
Also opening this year is its new drop tower ride, yet to be named.
A statement on the theme park’s social media page reads: “Watch this space for our own new 38 metre tower ride.
“Brand new for 2024! We are welcoming a brand new attraction next year for all our thrill-seeking guests… a HUGE DROP TOWER.
“The tower will be 38 metres, even taller than the City Wheel!”
However, people have been asked to name the new ride from four options – The Tower, The Needle, Up360 and Vertigo.
Adventure Island is one of the few theme parks in the UK which is free to enter, with guests paying for ride passes instead.
Having first opened in 1918 as the Sunken Gardens, just a few kids rides were part of the grand opening.
It was renamed over the years, becoming Peter Pan’s Playground, later Peter Pan’s Adventure Island before becoming Adventure Island, now home to 36 rides.
Here are five other rides and rollercoasters opening in the UK this year.
And a brand new American-themed land is coming to Thorpe Park too.
