Sky launches a new way to watch TV and you'll be very surprised by the price

When most people think of buying Sky they expect some seriously high monthly bills but that’s no longer the case. The telly firm has just announced the launch of a new Sky Essential TV package which includes Netflix, Discovery+ and full access to channels such as Sky Atlantic for just £15 per month.

That’s the lowest price we’ve ever seen – it even beats the £19 price that was available for Black Friday. The only thing you need to note is the deal is only available for those happy to switch to a new Sky Stream box.

This device uses the web rather than a dish to beam content to the big screen and also gets features such as personalised recommendations, easy access to streaming apps and even a way to store content via a smart Playlist function.

This is a great new price, but you might be wondering what you don’t get for £15. Sky says that some channels such as Sky Max, Sky Documentaries, Sky Crime, Sky Showcase and Sky Witness aren’t included in the Essential TV bundle.

To get full access to all of those bonus channels, users will need to sign up for Sky Ultimate TV, which now costs £22 per month (was £28).

This more premium package also offers things to watch such as U&alibi, Comedy Central, U&GOLD and National Geographic.

If any of that sounds enticing, you can find all the new Sky TV deals here.

Speaking about the boost, Ben Case, Managing Director Sky TV, said, “We’re excited to share our world-class TV experience with even more people, at an everyday low price with Sky Essential TV. Our new TV pack makes it easier than ever to get the biggest and best shows from Sky, Netflix and discovery+ all in one place, just in time for the Christmas TV season.”
