Stock market update: Nifty IT index 1.28%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a note on Monday.

Shares of Infosys Ltd.(up 1.65 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 1.63 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(up 1.43 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.36 per cent) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 1.25 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty IT index closed 1.28 per cent at 42590.30.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 6.91 points at 24141.3, while the BSE Sensex stood 9.83 points at 79496.15.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 ended in the green, while 30 closed in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, ITI Ltd, Ola Electric Mobilit and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Pix Trans, Vardhman Hold, Tera Software, JSW Holdings and Tainwala Chem hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Akums Drugs & Pharma, Asian Paints, Sahyadri Ind, Aarti Inds and Brand Concepts hit their fresh 52-week lows.
