Shares of Laurus(up 2.52 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(up 1.84 per cent), Pfizer(up 1.75 per cent), Lupin(up 1.24 per cent) and Zydus Lifesciences(up 1.16 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 0.91 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(down 0.64 per cent), Biocon(down 0.44 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 0.35 per cent) and Torrent Pharmaceuticals(down 0.28 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.58 per cent up at 11942.5.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 129.0 points at 17080.7, while the BSE Sensex stood up 346.37 points at 57960.09.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 43 ended in the green, while 6 closed in the red.

Shares of Asian Hotels, Srivasavi Adhesive Tapes Ltd., Ingersoll-Rand, Zen Tech and Faze Three Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Mirza Intnl, Brightcom Group, Dhanvarsha Finvest, Nidan Laboratories And Healthcare Ltd. and Sanwaria Consumer hit their fresh 52-week lows.
