Shares of Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 2.69 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 2.34 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(up 2.18 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.87 per cent) and Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 0.96 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Natco Pharma Ltd.(down 0.69 per cent) and Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 0.21 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.71 per cent up at 15128.45.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 107.75 points at 19653.5, while the BSE Sensex stood up 364.06 points at 65995.63.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 41 ended in the green, while 9 closed in the red.
Shares of Suzlon Energy, Infibeam Avenues, YES Bank, Ujjivan SFB and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Godrej Ind., Mindteck India, PNB Gilts, Rajshree Polypack and Pioneer Embroid hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Baid Leasing, Steel Exchange, ideaForge Technology, Shree Ram Proteins and Winsome Yarns hit their fresh 52-week lows.
