BROCKTON — “Vibrant flavors of the Caribbean” and the “succulent tenderness of prime-cut steak” have fallen in love in a secret harmony on the east side of Brockton.
Sunrise Steakhouse is unlike your average American steakhouse. You can get a sense of a tropical beach vacation right in the comfort of your hometown.
The new restaurant officially opened in Brockton Jan. 20, to give residents a fine dining experience without a super long drive to the “nearest major city.”

What’s different about this restaurant?
You can find these “fabulous” flavors at 586 Centre St. in Brockton.
“What sets us apart is our fusion of Haitian flavors and cuisine with a mixture of the traditional American fine dining steakhouse. I wanted to add something different, something people haven’t seen before in Brockton,” Rueben Pierre, owner of Sunrise Steakhouse, said.
The restaurant currently has two executive chefs who specialize in their own culinary creations.
One chef cooks the savory American flavors while the other chef cooks traditional island flavors of Haiti, Pierre said.
On Friday and Saturday nights the owner plans to hire a live jazz band to add a romantic ambience with subtle music.

What’s on the Sunrise Steakhouse menu?
You can look forward to a menu of classic grilled steak, salmon, haddock, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese while also having Haitian rice and beans, fried pork (griot), fried red snapper fish, vegetable stew (legume), and other dishes found in every Haitian household.
Surf and turf, roasted chicken, wings, calamari, bruschetta and conch fritters, are just some of the offerings.
Extensive dessert menu: Crème brûlée to Haitian sweet potato pie
The menu also has a lengthy dessert list ranging from crème brûlée, tiramisu, vegan chocolate cake, Haitian sweet potato pie, flan, and New York cheesecake.
Pierre takes pride in his new restaurant and can’t wait to show what he has in store for Brockton.
“When the mayor of Brockton came to the soft opening, he said the restaurant was beautiful and you don’t have to go to Newbury Street, this is the type of restaurant you would see in Boston,” Pierre, a Brockton resident, said.
Customers will get a new experience attending Sunrise Steakhouse with a fresh take on the décor to plush chairs and moody lighting.
“We hold ourselves to a high standard and we’re bringing a new dining experience to Brockton. Here you can dine out and eat a good steak while having delicious Haitian sides, it’s the best of both worlds. Our restaurant is a place you can come for special occasions and dress up and not feel overdressed,” Pierre said.
