Taiwan shares higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 1.55%



Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the gained 1.55%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Arima Communications Corp (TW:), which rose 9.96% or 1.25 points to trade at 13.80 at the close. Cheng Uei Precision Industry Co Ltd (TW:) added 9.90% or 7.20 points to end at 79.90 and Kinpo Electronics Inc (TW:) was up 9.90% or 2.90 points to 32.20 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Lead Data Inc (TW:), which lost 9.85% or 0.39 points to trade at 3.57 in late trade. Mercuries Life Insurance Co Ltd (TW:) declined 4.30% or 0.30 points to end at 6.68 and Shining Building Business Co Ltd (TW:) shed 4.27% or 0.50 points to 11.20.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.93% or 0.66 to $70.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.86% or 0.64 to hit $73.99 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 1.75% or 48.00 to trade at $2,689.20 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was down 0.43% to 32.44, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.45% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.52% at 106.94.
