NAVIGATING through a packed airport can be a stressful experience at the best of times.
From lengthy security lines to potential flight delays and baggage woes, arriving to a flight on time often doesn’t feel guaranteed.
Travel Lingual founder James Smith compiled the best ways to quash any pre-plane mishaps.
He said the best way to kickstart a journey is by checking in online.
“Airlines’ websites and mobile apps are your fast-pass to avoiding long lines, enabling you to head straight to security,” he said.
Mr Smith went on to detail how when a flight is scheduled will impact the ease of getting to it.
“Early mornings or late nights are the sweet spots for avoiding crowds,” he said.
“Flying during off-peak hours means less hassle, shorter lines, and an overall quicker airport experience.”
This also extended to what is brought onto and under the plane.
Mr Smith said: “Limit your luggage to a carry-on if possible. It not only saves check-in and baggage claim time but also eliminates the risk of lost luggage.”
He added that having liquids in an accessible part of a bag would also speed up the airport process.
“Have your liquids and electronics easily accessible. By organising your carry-on efficiently, you’ll breeze through the security screening process,” Mr Smith said.
This attitude extended to what type of outfit is best worn before getting on a plane.
“Wear easily removable shoes and minimal jewellery. The less you have to remove at security, the quicker you’ll pass through,” he said.
Finally, Mr Smith said there’s one move travellers can make to ensure eased travel happens consistently.
“Many airports offer fast track security whereby passengers can pay a fee to use a priority lane at airport security to skip the standard queues,” he said.
“You can also consider applying for TSA PreCheck or Global Entry. These programs pre-approve low-risk travellers, allowing them to speed through dedicated security lanes without removing shoes, laptops, or liquids.”
Mr Smith’s tips come after a string of similar hacks offered travellers hacks.

Meanwhile, a mum revealed how passengers can use a simple trick to get free drinks and snacks at airports across the country.
Elsewhere, another woman explained how she hides an extra bag when she travels on budget airlines.
