MIDDLEBORO – You can feel airport “vibes” without booking a trip at The Flying Banana, a frozen dessert shop with dozens of flavors located in Middleboro.
A family of local pilots opened the airport-themed shop to bring a little uniqueness to every bite.
You can find this one-of-a-kind business right at 54 Center St., Middleboro.
“One of the most popular treats is milk chocolate dipped banana with Reese’s Pieces and a peanut butter drizzle, another popular one is the milk chocolate dipped banana with Oreo drizzled with marshmallow,” Barry Wyllie, 46, owner of The Flying Banana, said.
Dipped bananas are not the only sweet item on the menu. The business also offers key lime pie on a stick, make-your-own caramel apple, soft serve ice cream, pretzel sticks, Rice Krispie treats, banana cream pudding, Italian ice, Twinkies on a stick, and marshmallows on a stick.
There are over 13 flavor toppings and dozens of combinations to enjoy. Some of those include Fruity Pebbles, almonds, Reese’s Pieces, Oreos, and many more.
The drinks range from assorted flavors of tea, coffee, Red Bull, and soda.
“We have unique and affordable desserts that the entire family will love,” Wyllie said.

Helping local charities
Their mission statement is simple, to create delicious treats at a “reasonable price” while giving back to local community they love.
One aspect of the shop that should make a customer feel amazing about shopping there is with each purchase the business will donate to local charities in the area.
The Flying Banana is available for private events, weddings, corporate events, birthday parties, and any special event you may have.
This business started out as a trailer that sprouted into something bigger and Wyllie couldn’t do it without the support and help from friends, family, and the community.
