The man behind the patriotic July 4th decorations in Enterprise – WTVY

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) – The 4th of July is almost here and one man made sure to get Enterprise in the patriotic spirit.

Adam Beasley, an Enterprise resident, is the man behind the patriotic decorations on the Boll Weevil Monument and other parts of the City of Progress.

With hundreds of cars passing by his displays every day, Beasley decorates the city to give everyone the chance to indulge in the patriotic holiday.

“It’s a way of kind of giving back to our city, for people to enjoy the beauty of what the U.S.A. really is about,” Beasley said.

Beasley loves the Fourth of July. He thinks it’s important for the City of Enterprise to appreciate the freedoms that originated from the holiday.

“We could still be under British rule, had our forefathers not thought about what it would be like to have a country like the United States,” Beasley explained.

For nearly four years, Beasley has been decorating the Boll Weevil Monument. However, his love of showing his patriotism through decorating has been a tradition for a long time.

“I grew up in a military family, even when we were places abroad, where we could, we would fly the American flag,” Beasley said.

He also decorates the monument and other parts of the city for Memorial Day, Veteran’s Day and 9/11.

Beasley is not done with his patriotic festivities. He will be passing out American flags on July 4 in front of the H&R Block, across from the Boll Weevil Monument, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Beasley tells News4 him being able to decorate the city wouldn’t be possible without the city leaders and the city’s downtown group’s permission.
