IF you’re looking for a holiday destination with cheap deals, year-round sunshine and family-friendly attractions, Morocco might be the answer.
Just four hours from the UK, the country offers options for both city breaks and beach holidays.
Temperatures can reach 25C during winter and 40C during summer, so it’s safe to say the destination is excellent all year round.
On top of that, the destinations’ accessibility is a massive draw for Brits, with an average flight time of four hours and many direct flights from major UK airports.
If you’re unsure where to go, Jet2 revealed Marrakech and Agadir as Morocco‘s best destinations for family-friendly breaks.
Agadir
Coastal Morocco often gets overlooked, but it’s a great destination for families looking for a budget-friendly escape that’s quieter than other popular options like Spain, Turkey and Greece.
Watersports are the number one activity here, but camel rides along the beach are also one of the most popular activities in Agadir.
The destination offers a unique combination of culture, sandy beaches, and endless sunshine. Even during autumn, you can expect up to 11 hours of sun.
Above all, Agadir has built a reputation for being a family-friendly beach destination with many waterparks and many kid-friendly activities.
The Agadir cable car is a must-see. It offers 360-degree panoramic views of the city and the sea.
In addition to the many spots for watersports and waterparks, there are a few more activities that aren’t known by most tourists.
The “Crocoparc” is always a hit with little ones, as it’s the only zoological park of crocodiles in Morocco and home to more than 300 crocodiles.

Marrakech
Moroccan cities don’t usually come to mind when considering family-friendly city breaks, but they have much to offer.
However, Marrakech is filled with parks, museums, gardens, waterparks and kid-friendly activities.
For instance, the Aqua Fun Club is the biggest waterpark in Marrakech and features 17 swimming pools. Elsewhere, the Oasiria Waterpark has eight pools, a pirate lagoon, wave pools and a lazy river.
Aside from the water activities, the city has many events that happen almost daily.
Visiting the “Jardin Majorelle” is a must, as it was also voted the number one attraction to visit with kids on Tripadvisor.
Known as “one of the most colourful gardens in Marrakech”, the Jardin Majorelle is a one-hectare botanical and artist’s landscape garden.
The city’s main square market, Jemaa el-Fna, offers entertainment from morning to night. This spot is known to be one of the best venues for shows, with everything from acrobats and magicians to traditional dancers, music, and cultural acts.
Elsewhere, you could take little ones on a horse-drawn carriage ride around the city or explore the traditional “souks” (the country’s traditional markets).
