Romanian gymnast Ana Barbosu receives Olympic bronze medal
Ana Barbosu had been bumped to fourth place after Jordan Chiles’ score was adjusted, but Romania appealed.
You’ve seen him flip, but have you seen him bobble?
A new bobblehead of Olympic gymnast Frederick Richard was unveiled this morning by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum in Milwaukee. Richard, a 20 year-old Stoughton native, just returned from the Paris games, where he won a bronze medal alongside the USA men’s gymnastics team for the team all-around, the team’s first medal since 2008.
The Frederick Richard bobblehead pictures the gymnast standing above a plaque with his name dressed in a red, white and blue uniform with a smile on his face and a victorious fist raised in the air.
“Being part of a medal winning team representing the United States is something I will always remember. To have that commemorated with a bobblehead doll is one of those surprises that you never think about when you dream about being on the podium,” Richard said in a statement.
“One of my goals is to spread the word about how exciting men’s gymnastics is so that we can grow our sport. I hope my bobblehead will help inspire kids across the country to try it out.”
How to buy the Frederick Richard bobblehead
This special edition bobblehead doll is available exclusively at the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s online store for $30 each, plus $8 for shipping. They are now available for presale and are expected to ship in January 2025.
Other bobbleheads available for purchase from the museum’s store include Jayson Tatum, the Green Monster and Rob Gronkowski.
