Transfer news LIVE: Man Utd plot swap deal as Chelsea 'ready' to sign £100m striker

Former Manchester United star Jesse Lingard has reportedly offered himself to Barcelona as he desperately looks to find a new club.

The playmaker has remained a free agent since leaving Nottingham Forest at the end of last season, despite several trials with interested outfits.

According to Sport, the forward has offered himself to Barcelona and is hopeful that a move to the Camp Nou will ‘springboard’ for him to find his best form and showcase his ability.

Barcelona’s poor financial situation is no secret around Europe and the La Liga giants are truly limited by Financial Fair Play. Thus, Lingard’s availability could present an opportunity to Xavi given that he is only expected to cost £1.7million (€2m) to keep him at the club for the remainder of the campaign.
