Transfer news: Victor Osimhen to Man Utd twist as Man City join race for £25m star

Victor Osimhen’s prospective move to Old Trafford, as part of a swap deal involving Marcus Rashford, looked to have been dead and buried due to the Manchester United forward’s huge wages.

Osimhen’s parent club, Napoli, were always going to struggle to afford Rashford’s reported £315,000-a-week salary.

But according to The Sun, Napoli boss Antonio Conte will not let the issue lie. The former Chelsea and Tottenham manager is still ‘looking at a deal’ for Rashford, reopening the possibility of a sensational winter swap.

Osimhen has no future at Napoli after being shipped out to Galatasaray on loan for the season, while Rashford also appears to have reached the end of the road.

Napoli are able to recall Osimhen from the loan stint if his £62million release clause is triggered, it is believed.
