The biggest gainers of the session on the were Fresnillo PLC (LON:), which rose 3.48% or 22.00 points to trade at 654.00 at the close. Beazley PLC (LON:) added 3.45% or 26.00 points to end at 780.00 and GSK plc (LON:) was up 3.22% or 47.00 points to 1,505.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Taylor Wimpey PLC (LON:), which lost 4.94% or 7.90 points to trade at 151.95 in late trade. Vistry Group PLC (LON:) declined 4.61% or 43.50 points to end at 901.00 and BAE Systems PLC (LON:) shed 3.95% or 51.50 points to 1,251.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 958 to 785 and 717 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.66% or 17.40 to $2,643.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.13% or 2.29 to hit $75.53 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 3.13% or 2.40 to trade at $78.98 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.31, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 102.73.
