THE UK will be a tech and science superpower by the end of the decade under a plan announced by Rishi Sunak.
The Government is to spend £360million to help ensure the nation is “at the forefront”.
The PM said: “Trailblazing science and innovation have been in our DNA for decades.
“But in an increasingly competitive world, we can only stay ahead with focus, dynamism and leadership.
“The more we innovate, the more we can grow our economy.”
His plans include boosting private and public investment in research and development.
They also pledge to ensure experts get access to the “best physical and digital infrastructure”, as part of efforts to attract top talent to Britain.
