As the high voltage debate went underway between Republican candidate Donald Trump and Democrats’ Kamala Harris, the two attacked each other over immigration with the billionaire repeating debunked story on migrants ‘eating cats’.

“In Springfield, they’re eating the dogs — the people that came in — they’re eating the cats, they’re eating the pets of the people that live there. And this is what’s happening in our country,” Trump said, contradicting the Springfield city manager, who said such accusations had no basis in fact.

Replying to Trump’s ‘eating cats’ comment, Kamala Harris termed the comment as ‘extreme.’

During the debate, Donald Trump promoted a false rumor that Haitian immigrants in Ohio are abducting and eating pets, using the baseless story as evidence of crimes being committed by immigrants.
