Wigan winger Marshall signs new four-year deal

Wigan Warriors winger Liam Marshall has signed a new four-year deal to keep him with the reigning Super League and World Club Challenge holders until the end of 2028.

The 28-year-old made his debut against Leigh Leopards in 2017 and has since spent eight seasons with the club.

He has made 175 appearances, scored 146 tries and has completed a clean sweep of trophies with Wigan, winning the Challenge Cup, Super League, League Leaders’ Shield and World Club Challenge.

“I’m very lucky to be part of this great team and great town, and me and my family are all proud Wiganers and look forward to what the future has to offer,” he said.

“Personally, this year has been one of very mixed emotions for our family, but the way the club behaved and looked after us all will never be forgotten by me and my family, making this an easy decision for us to stay.”

Marshall has won the Super League, Challenge Cup and League Leaders’ Shield on two occasions with Wigan during a remarkable career in Cherry and White.

He scored the winning try at the Tottenham Hotpsur Stadium in 2022 as Wigan beat Huddersfield to win the Challenge Cup for the second time during his career.

“Liam is integral to what we want to build as a team and as a club,” boss Matt Peet said.

“He has the skillset of an outstanding winger and we love him for his attitude, determination and commitment that rubs off on everyone around him.”
