Your Saturday Briefing: Tech Industry Gloom and Lunar New Year – Bloomberg


Hello from San Francisco, where we’ve been invited to hunt for rabbit statues as part of a new public art display. As Citylab reports, they’re all  tied into the celebrations for the Lunar New Year, which starts tomorrow and is set to spark a week of bunny-themed excitement.  

The festivities will be cold comfort for thousands of tech industry workers who were axed from their jobs at Microsoft, Amazon and Google parent Alphabet among others. Investors in tech stocks may also face some bumps as earnings season heats up. Fourth-quarter results for tech firms in the S&P are projected to post their steepest slide since 2016.
