The huge discount on the legendary Snickers bar sent savvy chocoholics wild in Scotland.

It was first shared on social media by one lucky shopper who said she found the 20p bars in her local Asda in Kirkcaldy.

An average price for an individual Snickers is 85p in many UK supermarkets – marking a major discount.

Snickers fan are usually left having to spend £1.75 for a pack of four bars in their local supermarket in order to get the best deal.

After the 20p revelation was shared on Facebook, many shoppers rushed to tag their pals in the post as they pleaded with them to fill up their shopping trolleys.

One told their friend: “I think we need to take a trip down.”

As a second added: “Aberdeen has them too, been 20p for a few weeks, yum.”

It is unclear if the discount was seen in other Asda stores or just the Kirkcaldy and Aberdeen stores.

It comes as Asda shoppers were seen lapping up a new Aero chocolate that’s landed on shelves.

Sweet-toothed customers have been dashing out to their local branch to pick up the new Orange Bubbles.

Which chocolate bars have been discontinued in the UK?

Asda’s latest launch comes after shoppers were left going wild for strawberry-flavoured Aero bars last month.

Seasoned chocolatiers have described the bar as “lovely” with some saying it tastes like strawberry milkshake.

Nestlé launched the bar in Spar branches across the UK in mid-May, before rolling it out more widely in June.

And in February, Aero fans were left in meltdown after spotting two new flavours in Co-op branches.

The Choco Hazelnut and Golden Honeycomb bars were a quick hit with customers keen to give them a try.

As B&M shoppers were left thrilled after spotting a popular 90s chocolate bar scanning for just £1.50 at tills.

The delicious Cadbury Top Deck bars have been a huge hit with chocoholics since they returned to shelves earlier this year with customers desperate to bag the impressive bargain.

Meanwhile, customers were left brimming with excitement after finding out the discounter had also started stocking Cadbury Caramilk Crunchie bites.

One spotted them in their local branch and posted about it on Facebook, with fellow shoppers quick to react.

How to save money on chocolate

CONSUMER reporter Sam Walker explains how to save money on your next chocolate haul…

Go own brand – if you’re not too fussed on flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you’ll save by going for supermarket’s own brand bars.

Shop around – if you’ve spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it’s cheaper elsewhere.

Websites like Trolley.co.uk let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you’re getting the best deal.

Look out for yellow stickers – supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they’ve been reduced.

They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best before date or the packaging is slightly damaged.

Buy bigger bars – most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.

So if you’ve got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.
